One Hotel…Many Hearts

Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, together with the hotel’s co-owners David Tse and Chittimas Ketvoravit, presented more than 400,000 Baht to 79 employees affected by the recent flooding crisis that swept Thailand. The monies raised for this donation were earned through various hotel fundraising activities that included a huge Garage Sale supported by the entire team of staff and management, and an online donation where regular guests were invited to donate and support those need; while the owners themselves made a considerable personal donation to the team. Together with the government’s pledge to support those affected, the staff have the opportunity to replace belongings and repair their houses.

Towels for Trees … Helping the Environment

Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, and Wattana Pattanawong, Director of Human Resources, and the hotel’s House Keeping Team are encouraging guests to participate in “Towels for Trees”. This activity aims to encourage hotel guests to save water, energy and waste, simply by reducing the number of towels used in each room. Plus, for every five towels unwashed by guests, the hotel will donate money to plant one tree to offset environment waste in laundering of the towels.

The Act of Giving

Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, donated more than 1,000 unused pillows, bathrobes, slippers and napkins, to Anthony Pramuaratana, Executive Director of Thailand Business Coalition on AIDS, who will use these items in the coalitions efforts to help in the daily life of those affected by HIV. This charitable effort, began several years ago by the Hotel, also reflects the universal concept of finding happiness through the act of giving.

Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square has not only been offering guest rooms for staff and their families more than 250 lives, who suffered from the recent flooding in Bangkok, but the hotel’s management also organized a cleaning team, composed of management and staff, to help clean the affected staff houses after the flood waters receded. Each team, of five staff members, was assigned to help immediately with cleaning, fixing, painting and any activity needed to help.

The management of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, led by Philippe Le Bourhis recently organized the get together activity to bring back smiles to the staff and their families who are affected by the flood in Bangkok. 250 people had been accommodated at the hotel since September. The activity was received good support from Krispy Kreme, McDonald and Hiso Party Magazine as well as received the money donation of 20,000 baht from Evian Mineral Water to support the flood victims. The Staff and families were very happy by many entertainment during acitivity including giving sermon by local monks.

Used Plastic Bottles to help Flood Victims

Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, donated used plastic bottles to Saichon Supmakudom, Corporate Affairs Director of McThai Co., Ltd. who will send the bottles to Chulalongkorn University’s One Heart for Flood Relief activity supporting the Miracle of Life Foundation, under HRH Princess Ubol Ratana. The bottles will be used to make life vests, flotation devices and vessels to hold filtered water for distribution to flood victims. Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square’s unwanted trash helps those in need for better well-being.

The management team of Intertek Testing Services led by Anothai Dittasomboon recently presented an ISO 9001 certificate to Philippe Le Bourhis, General Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square. The successful ISO certification was made through management systems, an accredited registrar that performs assessments of management systems in line with national and international quality standards requirements.

Educational Supported Project
Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square assisted Wat Bang Nang Lek School in Nakornnayok province of Thailand with donations to the amount of 135,000 Baht. These donations paid for repainting the school wall and purchasing new trash bins, cooler tank, daily essentials, computers and other necessary school materials. The hotel hosted a lunch for students and teachers with the team teaching the students how to separate trash for recycling.

World Pink Charity Walk

“2nd High Tea Charity Auction” at the Pastel Lounge Lobby. The event, presided over by Thanpuying Viraya Javakul, was attended by many celebrities and many of whom donated gift to the auction. The money raised from the event totaled 3,625,000 Baht which aimed to raise funds for Border Patrol Military, Police & Volunteer Supporting Foundation and the project initiated by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, without deducting any expense.

The money will be used to help children charities under Her Royal Highness’ patronage.
